Delineator Posts

A delineator post is a narrow upright marker that guides drivers along an edge or lane line. It takes up far less room than a cone or drum, which is why you see them separating bike lanes, toll plazas, parking garage ramps and long work zone tapers.

There are two families. Portable posts sit in a weighted rubber base and move with the job. Surface-mount posts bolt or glue to the pavement and bend over when hit, then spring back, so they suit permanent lane separation.

Buying questions

Portable base or surface mount?

Use a portable base when the layout changes day to day, such as work zones and events. Use surface mount for anything that stays put for months: bike lanes, loading zones, parking separators.

What base weight do I need for a 42 inch post?

8 lb bases are fine for parking lots and low-speed areas. Go to 12 lb or more for open roads, wind or truck traffic.

Is reflective sheeting included?

Portable posts normally come with two reflective bands. Surface-mount posts are often sold with sheeting as a separate line; ours are quoted with standard high-intensity sheeting included.
